They did an excellent job restoring the floors of my small business, leaving them looking fantastic. Steve provided great recommendations, and the pricing was fair. Plus, they were very accommodating with our schedule. Highly recommend their services!Rob Fraker2024-03-16Great experience with this team. We have engineered hardwood floors that were about 10years old. After plenty of wear and tear from kids, dogs and the factory finish wearing down we thought the only option was to replace the floors. After some research we found there was an option. With sanding and refinishing not being an option the team did a cleaning and removed all wax and factory finish off the floor without compromising the integrity of the floors or the color. They touched up some spots that needed some staining and did a double layered epoxy that is said to last 5-7+ years. The outcome was fantastic! They spent more than a day completing everything and couldn’t be more happier.Prakash Banavar2023-10-17One of the best and professional team work I have seen in a long long time. Dirt, foot traffic, and everyday wear and tear can take a toll on your beautiful hardwood floors! Here at Apogee, we provide a deep-cleaning hardwood floor solution that goes beyond a simple mop routine and is way better than off-the-shelf commercial cleaning products. We take pride in our meticulous process that will restore the natural beauty and shine of your floors while also extending their lifespan.
Our deep cleaning process begins with the removal of old wax buildup to allow for a more thorough cleaning. This will also set the stage for the next steps. Any lingering residues are neutralized to ensure nothing will interfere with the final finish for flawless results.
We guarantee long-lasting results through proper preparation. Our team meticulously prepares the floor for the final finish. This could involve minor repairs to address superficial scratches or imperfections, ensuring a smooth and even surface for the final touches.
Apogee is dedicated to delivering only the best—that’s why we take advantage of the latest technologies. Our buffing machines are designed to gently restore the natural shine of your floors without the harsh abrasives of traditional sanding methods. Our specialized buffing process removes all remaining dirt or residue while bringing back the beauty of your hardwood floors.
1 – Surface Refresh: A Screen & Recoat is a less invasive process aimed at refreshing the top layer of your hardwood floor’s finish without removing the existing finish or significantly altering the wood itself.
2 – Light Abrasion: During a Screen & Recoat, the floor’s surface is lightly abraded using a floor buffer and a fine abrasive screen or mesh. This scuffing process prepares the existing finish to receive a new topcoat of finish.
3 – Quick and Less Disruptive: Screen & Recoat is a faster and less disruptive option than full sanding. It’s typically completed in one day. It’s often chosen for floors that are still in relatively good condition but have surface wear, minor scratches, or dullness.
4 – Cost-Effective Maintenance: This method is a cost-effective way to maintain the appearance and protection of your hardwood floors. It extends the life of the floor therefore preventing the need for a full refinishing for a longer period.
1 – Complete Restoration: Refinishing with sanding involves the removal of the existing finish and a portion of the top layer of the hardwood itself. It’s a more extensive process aimed at fully restoring and transforming the appearance of the floor.
2 – Leveling and Repair: Sanding is used to level out uneven or damaged areas on the floor, such as deep scratches, stains, or dents. It provides an opportunity for more substantial repairs.
3 – Change in Appearance: This method allows for a significant change in the appearance of your hardwood floors. You can choose a different stain color, sheen level, or finish type to achieve the desired look.
4 – Longer Duration: Refinishing with sanding typically takes longer. Sanding requires a minimum of 2 days but could take up to 5 days or more depending on the condition and size of the floor.
In summary, the key difference between a Screen & Recoat and refinishing with sanding is the level of intervention and the extent of changes made to the hardwood floor. Screen & Recoat is a maintenance procedure that addresses minor surface wear and restores the shine, while refinishing with sanding is a more intensive process that completely strips and rejuvenates the entire floor, making it suitable for floors with deeper damage or those in need of a new look. The choice between the two depends on the condition of your hardwood floors and your specific goals for maintenance or renovation.
